I can give you two explanations! The first is that when I was writing it, I kind of wanted it to have a movie-esque feel where the girl goes to absurd ends to win over the boy she likes, but it turns out that he's like her all along! So I kind of wanted to give the ending a movie-esque feeling as well. I think they still have a lot of things to sort out (and there are other parts to idol!AU, hopefully Q_Q) but I didn't want to ruin that perfect moment they had.
I guess my explanation for Jun's characterization is that he felt like he was losing Hikari because she was going to be famous. He thought that if he was a famous pokemon trainer or the champion, then he'd be worthy of Hikari's attention, because they'd both be famous enough. Does that...work? I always see guys as more abrasive and less in-touch with feelings. I'd think Jun were more interested in being ~worthy of Hikari than like actually thinking about if she likes him or not, and if he'd hurt her feelings that way. /so much psychoanalysing.
The second explanation is that I got kind of sick of writing it towards the end and I just wanted the scene to finish so-- it might be a bit truncated because of that. *hangs head*
I fixed the second mistake, but I don't understand the problem with the first? "has fixated" is a proper usage of the term.
